Air Guard Cake

This cake is for a going away party for someone who joined the Air National Guards. My husband took a photo shoot of the assembling and decorating phase of this cake, so you can kind of see the whole process of how the cake came together. I always have my iPod blasting and am usually singing (ok fine, and dancing!) along while I'm working on the cakes, so the majority of the time I had no idea that he was taking a picture until the flash went off.

First step of the day: Frosting the cake! Let's get this party started!!

Coloring the fondant for the blue stripe on the bottom layer. Steve caught me off guard here, I may have been singing along to my iPod :)

Rolling out fondant for the top layer of the cake

Cutting out the Air Guard symbols by hand with an Xacto knife

Assembling the symbols
Symbols cut out and drying

Putting the Air Guard symbol on

Piping on frosting boarders to hold the layers together

Putting on the planes and final details

Baby Shower Cake

The colors for this baby shower were pink, purple, green, and yellow. The cake was a surprise for the Mom-To-Be from her baby girl...with a little help from the Dad-To-Be :) The top layer was white cake with chocolate frosting. The second layer was white cake with white frosting. Both layers had the tie dye effect with pink, purple, yellow, and green. The bottom layer was chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

Star Wars Golden Birthday Cakes

Gold Star Wars cakes for an 8 year old's Golden Birthday! He went nuts with the flavors on this one, the top layer was banana cake with banana filling and chocolate frosting, the middle layer was chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and the bottom layer was lemon cake with lemon filling and white frosting! The second, smaller cake was white cake with chocolate frosting.

Sweet 16!

Happy Sweet 16 to my "little" cousin!! In true 16 year old fashion, she wanted a hot pink, lime green, and black cake. This cake is the reason my hands are pink in my main picture! :)

30th Birthday Bash

My best friend turned 30 this year, so I decided she needed a cake that reflected how exciting this milestone was for her. Can't go wrong with hot pink and zebra stripes right?!?

Here is the inside of her cake. Don't mind the crappy pic, the iPhone does not take good pictures in the dark! The pink layers were hot pink, black, and white tie dyed butter pecan cake with chocolate frosting. The zebra layers were chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

L&M Radiator Cake

My husband works at L&M Radiator. This is a cake I whipped up for his coworkers on extremely short notice. Not bad considering I was working on a huge cake at the same time!

Hunting Cake

My brother in law is an avid outdoors man. I rarely see him with out some form of camo or Ice Armor on :) This cake was for his birthday.
